California Dreamin’

I hear the music again.

and that jaded, masked, gargoyle takes a backseat.

In my mind, LA is always on fire.

The Mama's and the Papa's sing

a song about phantasm

and we all fall down with the ashes.

oh, and turn his TV off.

All cynics have California dreams.

and mine is on Gould Avenue,

in Laurel Canyon.

Casita del Cielo

or "the little sky house"

once owned by David Carradine.

Bathing in sunshine,

Surrounded by succulents and sprouting yucca,

a patio with a 270-degree view of hell on earth.

Ideally, that's the house I would like to watch burn down.

foraging a fresh start,

laughing through the ashes,

joint in hand.
